Forgot a reading log? Missed a class? Bombed a quiz? Never fear … extra credit is here!
These extra credit opportunites are so valuable to the OneBook experience that you may want to do them just in case you need the points later in the semester!
What is required? Attend one of the specified OneBook or Conversations ‘07 events and write a 1-2 page typed, double-spaced review of the event in which you provide a general overview of topics covered, describe your response to the event, and provide support for this reaction by choosing one or two points to analyze in depth.
When is it due? Each report is due one week after the event.
How much is it worth? Each report is worth up to five points of extra credit.
How can these points be applied? These extra credit points may be applied to any areas of the grade except for major essay/in-class essay assignments. In other words, you may use these points toward class participation, reading logs, blogs, quizzes, or in-class activities; however, if you have achieved perfect scores on all of these items, you will not be able to use these points. Also, you may only receive up to 20 points extra credit through these events and responses!
